Is there a recommended model or brand of display for use with the WFM/WVR 6xxx/7xxx series?

There are no formally Tektronix recommended brands or models of displays for use with the WFM / WVR 6xxx / 7xxx series. The ports marked "Ext Display" or "XGA Output" should work with any VESA compliant XGA (1024x768 resolution) monitor. To avoid complications arising from frame rate adjustments, the refresh rate of the XGA signal coming from one of these instruments is generally around the frame rate of the currently selected video source (sometimes doubled for slow frame rate sources). This tends to yield a refresh rate such as 50 or 60 Hz which is slower than most computers put out (around 75 Hz) and therefore can cause trouble on some cheaper computer monitors which were only designed to work with PCs and were not tested for full VESA compliance. As long as the monitor you want to use is capable of handling these slower refresh rates it should work just fine with any of these instruments. We also recommend that you use a monitor that has X and Y position controls as this is sometimes required to center an XGA image in the display.
